These backgrounds were created for the animated horror short film
Not So Little, directed by Jared Guadalupe Ayala.
In addition to final background paintings I also ideated ways to stylize the environment assets. The goal was to put a gritty horror twist on the fairytale aesthetic of early 2d animation.
